As if novels and movies weren't enough, Stephanie Meyer's Twilight franchise now has a comic book adaptation coming out.

The Twilight books strike me as unusual material to be adapted into the comic book format. Comic books ("graphic novels" if you want to be pretentious about it) are usually pretty action-packed. Twilight is not exactly saturated with action, it's mostly romance and drama. It's a pretty boring story (which is one reason why I am at a loss to explain why it is so damned popular with young women). What's the point of making Twilight into a comic book if it doesn't have a lot of visually spectacular stuff going on that would warrant pictures?
